Dr. Andrew Jones identifies with his career as surgeon for 40 years. He first committed to help others with medicine, and to follow his family lineage of surgeons, with help from a youth pastor at a retreat in high school. His outgoing nature has been useful, but his faith and his church have been essential in his service to diverse community populations. His practice began in his hometown of Bloomington, IN and his first patient was his mother’s best friend. In constant pain and depressed, she’d sustained complications years after surgery by his medical school advisor, the Chair of Neurosurgery! Encouragement and regular guidance brought relief and without more surgery. In the last decade, he's felt an unburdening of his responsibility for acute care, and worked as locums surgeon to back others up before joining a larger group as part-time clinician. His wife, Cathie, is a mediator for FEMA, and her daughter and husband have two daughters in D.C. A son, Ben, works for Amazon in Seattle and his daughter, Blair, works in Raleigh in Web UEx; both are married and had sons in 2024!
